History event of Ba Dinh Square
Under the reign of King Gia Long, Ba Dinh Square was a section of Thang Long Imperial Citadel in the western.
In 1894, The French troops conquered control of Indochina, destroyed the citadel. Ba Dinh Square became a vacant land.
After, the French architecture renovated this land as their administrative center. There is a flower garden to build named as Le parc Puginier. However, after the Japanese coup d’état in French Indochina took place, the flower garden was named Ba Dinh Flower garden.
