Co To island is about 80km offshore from the Van Don's mainland area, belonging to the Co To archipelago with more than 50 islets of varying sizes. This island spans over 46,2m2, making its pristine nature, tranquil beaches and local experiences.

So, when is the best time to visit Co To island? The best time to visit Co To island is from April to June. It is sunny skies, warm temperatures, and calm seas. 

You can swim, sunbath, and explore many outdoor activities. If you travel to Co To island in autumn months of September and October, the weather is cooler, pleasant and fewer crowds. Don't get to this island from July to August, this stage usually has rain and typhoons, affecting your schedule. 

How to get to Co To island?

You can travel to Co To island by  two-stage, combining land and sea transportation. From Hanoi, you depart to Cai Rong port by bus, motobike, or private car. This is a main port to Co To island. 

It is about 4 to 5 hours to get to Cai Rong Port from Hanoi by private car with a driver. If you want to save budget, you can transfer by bus. You book a taxi to My Dinh, Gia Lam station, then start at the port. 

After approaching Cai Rong port, you sit a speedboat to Co To island. The price of the ticket is from 300.000VND and it is estimated to be about 90 minutes depending on weather.

Besides, you can transfer to a ferry. However, it is slower, and takes about 2 hours to 3 hours. You can see some views of the Bai Tu Long Bay archipelago.
