Da Nang Cathedral was designed and constructed by French priest Father Louis Vallet and is the only Catholic cathedral constructed by the French colonials during that era.  

This place was built on the cathedral, which began in February 1923 and was completed quickly in March 1924. 

The Rooster Church was built to serve the European and local Catholic community, blending between European and Vietnamese design. 

In the beginning, the church painted in a neutral hue during its early decades. However, the exterior was covered in its pastel pink pigment. So, the Church was also known as Da Nang Pink Cathedral.
