Ho Quoc Pagoda is the largest pagoda in Phu Quoc, situated about 10km away from Phu Quoc airport and 20km away from Duong Dong town. There are a large number of tourists who come here annually. You have the opportunity to explore the unique atmosphere and know more about culture and spirituality.

The pagoda was constructed in October 2011 with an investment of 100 billion VND. On 12/2014, Ho Quoc Pagoda was officially inaugurated. This pagoda built some structures to enhance the beauty of the temple for about a year.

Unique architecture of Ho Quoc Pagoda

Ho Quoc Pagoda covers over 110ha, as well as the largest temple on Phu Quoc island. The pagoda was designed by architectural style of the Ly - Tran dynasties with the signature structures such as the bell tower, main hall which are made of stone and ironwood. 

Tourists will be overwhelmed by the grand triple arched gate. The gate is carved with dragons, lotus flowers and Arhat statues. In the ground of the pagoda, you can see many Bodhisattva and Buddha statues. 

Many green trees are grown around the temple to add to its peaceful, tranquil ambiance, relaxation and less stress. Ho Quoc Pagoda is the best place to meditate and relax for tourists when they travel to this island. 

Tam Quan Gate is built with 3 doors including Dia Giap Door, Bat Nhi Door, and Giai Thoat Door. Both sides are putted with Dharma Protectors.

Behind the Tam Quan Gate, tourists see the Thien Tinh Stadium. You can admire the panoramic view of Ho Quoc pagoda, having a 3m high Buddha statue made of marble. The entire yard is paved with stone.

After climbing 70 steps, you can approach the main hall. Stepping in the hall, you will be surprised by several statues of Buddha and Buddhist paintings. 

Visiting an ancestral hall, you can see the worship place of the patriarchs of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect like Nhan Tong, Phap Loa, Huyen Quang.

How to get to Ho Quoc Pagoda? 

If you are a lonely, small group and want to explore the majestic nature, you should rent a motorbike. However, renting a private car is the best choice for a large group, both safe and comfortable.
