History of Dalat railway station

Constructed from 1932 to 1938, Dalat railway station played an important role between Dalat and other major cities in Vietnam. This train station was a part of the Thap Cham - Dalat railway which was a railway system using cogwheels to help train the steep terrain. 

 

Due to this new change, the trains easily climb the high altitude landscape in Dalat. Tourists can see the impressive scenery. 

However, the railway system in Dalat was damaged by the Vietnam War. Until 1968, the railway was no longer operated. Afterwards, the local government in Dalat decided to restore Dalat railway station to become a tourist attraction attracting many tourists annually.
