Tri Nguyen Aquarium was built in 1971 by a local fisherman, Mr Le Can. The former name of the Aquarium is Tri Nguyen Fish Lake, with 160m in length and 130m in width, divided into 3 three parts: carnivorous fish, ornamental fish and fish for food.

After that, he wants to build an oceanic environment for a lake by way of a non sealed stone embankment to let the sea water enter and exit the lake easily. Then, he raised a lot of marine, creating a lively sea museum in Nha Trang and attracting both locals and international tourists.

In 1994, the local authority invested ten billion in Tri Nguyen Aquarium to develop it into a stunning spot, pushing forward tourism in the city. Nowadays, this place was under the management of Khanh Hoa Tourism Company.

Tri Nguyen Aquarium has 3 floors, includes:

The outdoor fish pond of Tri Nguyen Aquarium is large with an area of 150-200m2. There are many types of fish here such as mackerel, mackerel, tuna, stingray, … and shrimp and squid. As a coral stone embankment system helps a separation of this pond with a height to be equal to seal level. Surrounding the pond, many trees were grown like magnolia, casuarina, white frangipani, and round-leafed banyan.

Then, you can book a transfer by boat or canoe. The price of renting ranges from 500.000 to 800.000 for a trip. Besides, you can get to by wooden boat with the price of around 150.000 VND/trip.
