Vietnam National Museum of History was built in 1910, and plays an important role in preserving the nation's cultural and historical heritage. 

Formerly, this museum was a component of the École Française d’Extrême-Orient and changed its name to the Vietnam National Museum of History after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was founded in 1945.

The museum has spawned many renovations in its existence. In 2009, the new building was built. Nowadays, Vietnam National Museum of History displays a wide range of exhibits from ancient times to the 20th century, concerning independence and liberation such as bronze drums, iconic stone steles from the Nguyen dynasty and other items.

The Vietnamese National History Museum is located in the city center, so you can easily approach from anywhere in Hanoi city. You can book a taxi, motorbike or private car. 

The museum is near the Hanoi Opera House because it is behind and shares the same address with others. You can take a bus route N0. 02, 34, 44, 49 and 51. 

If you book a car or motorbike, you depart Le Thai To, head in the direction of Hang Trong, Hang Khay and Trang Tien. Afterward, you transfer more 200m to the National Museum of History.
