MUI NE TRAVEL TIPS
Mui Ne is a town (fishermen village) and cape located 190 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City (200 kilometers on the current highway). Mui Ne and the other wards of Phan Thiet stretch along the coast for approximately 50 kilometers and have been transformed into a resort destination since the middle 1990s, when many visited the area to view the solar eclipse of October 24, 1995. It also well known for unique white sand dunes, featuring several lakes and even swamps straight in the middle of sandy terrain. It is also the only place in Vietnam with quad bike ride service for adventurous tourists.

HOW TO GET AROUND MUI NE
- Rent a private car with English speaking driver will be more comfortable and relaxing. And make sure you would not miss the important destination in city.
- Jeep Tour. It will take you go around Mui Ne in 4 hours travel.
- Taxis. Taxis start at average at 12,000 VND for the first kilometer and 17,000 VND per kilometer thereafter. Do not take unmetered taxis.
- Rent a motorbike. This is will be easy for you go around the city. However, make sure you can ride it well. You can rent them at hotels or motorbike shops with cost under 200.000 VND per day.

The best time to visit Mui Ne is from March to July this is dry season in year.
HOW TO STAY SAFE IN MUI NE
Mui Ne is not really busy and it’s a safe place to backpack and travel – even if you’re traveling solo or even as a solo female traveler. Violent crime against travelers is very rare, but petty crime and theft is not. In crowded places, you’ll want to keep your purse/wallet close and be mindful of the activity around you. Don’t keep your cell phone or money in your hand as you’re walking around.
Traffic can be hard to navigate. Motorbikes are everywhere, and as a pedestrian, crossing the street can be scary. Wait for a break in the traffic before crossing the road and then slowly go to the other side.
Most people are very honest! However, be on alert for scams. Just keep an eye out.

NGUYEN DINH CHIEU AND HUYNH THUC KHANG Street is hailed as the most prominent Mui Ne beach in Vietnam. It is a beautiful seaside promenade that’s home to many beachfront resorts, budget hotels, eateries and bars are lined along the street.
MONEY SAVING TIPS IN MUI NE
You don’t need to do much to save money in Mui Ne as it’s super inexpensive to visit already. But, if you must, here are some ways you can cut down your costs:
- Ask your hotel staff – Before you leave the hotel, ask them to estimate how much what you want to do should cost. How much a ride to tourist places should cost? How much should I pay to have a t-shirt like this made? How much for noodles soup… They will be able to give you bargaining guidelines.
- Eat street food – Street food in Mui Ne is inexpensive and delicious.
- Stay in guest house – resort near the beach will be more expensive than those a bit further away. Stay further away from the tourist hub to save you some money.
