Tuyen Lam Lake is a freshwater lake in Vietnam with an area of 350ha, surrounded by pine forests and brings a cool and fresh atmosphere. Tuyen Lam Lake is an artificial lake built in the 1930s. At the beginning, the lake was a dam, after being renovated as a tourist place serving tourists coming here.

In the past, Tuyen Lam Lake was a secret base within the Quang Trung area. In 1987, there was a dam which was built across Purle Stream to ensure water for agricultural production of Duc Trong district. So, this lake was renamed Tuyen Lam Lake with  “Tuyen” means “stream”, “Lam” stands for “forest”.

How to get to Tuyen Lam Lake? 

Tuyen Lam Lake is about 7 km from Da Lat city center. There are three ways for you to get there.

The distance from Tuyen Lam Lake to Dalat is about 7km. It takes about 30minutes to transfer by car. There are 3 vehicles to get there such as private car, taxi, motorbike. 

From the city center, you get to Trieu Viet Vuong street. Continue following the instruction on the way to Truc Lam Zen Monastery. After turning right, you will see Tuyen Lam Lake. 

You can take the Dalat cable car to Truc Lam Monastery and have a walk to Tuyen Lam Lake. You choose Prenn pass about 5km, add about 1km to the left. You will see Tuyen Lam Lake.

Best time to visit Tuyen Lam Lake
