The architecture of the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology consists of three mains. Each area has different aspects of culture in Vietnam with unique characteristics.
Trong Dong Building ( Bronze Drum Building)
This building is a place that holds exhibitions. Trong Dong building was inspired from the circular shape of Trong Dong Dong Son.
The building was designed by architect Ha Duc Linh, who is Tay people. He grew up with the ancient Dong Son culture. So, he wants this culture into the construction of the Trong Dong building.
Trong Dong Building has a total area of 200m2 with 2 floors. Tourists have the opportunity to see various artifacts of all 54 ethnic minorities.
Canh Dieu Building ( Kite Building)
Canh Dieu building features 4 floors with the unique architecture about the image of kite. The first, second and third floor open to the public and the fourth floor which is designed for artifact restoration and conservation.
Coming to Canh Dieu building, visitors can visit the cinema, multimedia room next to exhibitions of foreign cultures.
Kien Truc Garden
The final of garden, you will see 10 different traditional buildings of ethnic groups such as iet, Cham, Bahnar, Ede, Giarai, Cotu, Tay, Yao, Hmong, and Hanhi.
You can admire the architectural styles of several buildings and an artificial stream. Walking along the stream, leading to a water puppet performance stage.
