Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is located in Ba Dinh Square, belongs to No.08 Hung Vuong, Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi city. 

This is the place where the Vietnamese government preserves Ho Chi Minh's body that all people may visit and remember him. 

The Mausoleum was formally built on 29th August 1975 and contributed by the  Soviet Government.

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is designed in the style of Lenin’s Mausoleum in Moscow.

The Mausoleum is surrounded by marble columns with 5 parts. The structure is to model the Vietnamese traditional house. It is the same as the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh. 

The words " President Ho Chi Minh" has a red plum marble, hanging on the facade of the Mausoleum.

The materials of the Mausoleum were taken from different provinces of Vietnam . 64 Provinces in Vietnam decided to contribute one material to build the Mausoleum to respect him, expressing the indicated national unity of Vietnam. 

On the inside the Mausoleum, visitors may see Ho Chi Minh's famous quote  “Nothing is more precious than Freedom and Independence” made of gold.

President Ho Chi Minh's body is put on a bronze bed with an automatic lift system. There are a number of military honor guards standing around. 

How to get to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum?

You can approach Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum by many means of transportation such as vehicles and public buses. 

Taking a bus is the cheapest way to transfer to the Mausoleum. Some bus routes pass by Ba Dinh Square such as N0. 09, N0.33, N0.22, N0.45, N0.50. 

 After stopping at the bus stop, walk about 500m to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. 

You can transfer by taxi. Hanoi has a lot of taxis such as Vinasun, Mailinh, .. The price of a taxi for 1 km is from 12.000 - 15.000 VNĐ. 

However, the best choice from hotel/city center to Ho Chi Minh is to rent a private car in Hanoi. You will feel comfortable, safe. Besides, you can combine Hanoi city tours to visit many highlight spots such as  One pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Dong Xuan Market, Tran Quoc Pagoda...

Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was designed with a solid square block that was 21,6m, width of 41,2m. 

Besides, the exterior of the Mausoleum is made of gray granite with two soldiers who stand in front of the Mausoleum. 

Inside Ho Chi Minh is a room with marble. The body of President Ho lay in a glass casket with toughened glass at three of the bed’s sides. You can see Ho Chi Minh President, wearing a khaki shirt and rubber sandals through the clear glass.

If you want to witness the flag raising, you should come to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum at 6:00 am. And the daily flag lowering ceremonies occur at 9:00 pm.

Uncle Ho worked at House No.54 from December 1954. The tiny house has 3 rooms such as a working room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. 

Continuing the journey, we come to the stilt house. This is place that President Ho Chi Minh relax after working. In the front of the house, you will see the fish pond and orchids. 

Don't give out the One Pillar Pagoda when you come to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Hanoi. The Pagoda was built during the reign of Ly Thai Tong emperor, in 1049 after the King lay to dream about the Guanyin giving to him a bright lotus. So, the Pagoda structure was designed to resemble a lotus flower.
