Phu Quoc district is the largest island in Vietnam. Phu Quoc and nearby islands, along with the distant Tho Chu Islands, are part of Kiên Giang Province as Phu Quoc District, the island has a total area of 574 square kilometres (222 sq mi) and a permanent population of approximately 103,000 Located in the Gulf of Thailand, the district of Phú Quốc includes the island proper and 21 smaller islets.

Dương Đông town is located on the west coast, and is also the administrative and largest town on the island. The other township is An Thới on the southern tip of the island.

Ha Tien Town in Kien Giang Province, known for its beautiful beaches, boasts some unique delicacies.

Ha Tien is the most attractive place to be in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region. Among its many charms, Ha Tien receives a cooling breeze off the sea, river, and hills throughout the day. Its irresistible combination of bustling markets and languid backstreets, crumbling shophouses and forested hills, delicious street food and local temples, promenading pedestrians and river traffic, twittering swiftlets and chiming pagoda gongs, makes Ha Tien the ‘Jewel of the Delta’.

The boulevards of Tra Vinh, one of the prettiest towns in the Mekong Delta, are still lined with shady trees, harking back to an earlier era. With more than 140 Khmer pagodas dotting the province, Tra Vinh is a quiet place for exploring the Mekong’s little-touted Cambodian connection.
