Best time to visit Huong Pagoda

You can visit Perfume Pagoda from the first and the third lunar month or between from August to October.

What to do and see at Perfume Pagoda?

Visiting Duc Pier ( Ben Duc)

It takes about 2 hours to transfer from Hanoi city to Ben Duc. This place is the first starting point that you visit to come to Perfume Pagoda. 

There are thousands of boats used for visitors at Ben Duc in the time of festival months. The time of travel by boat is around 1 hour from Yen Vi stream from Pier Duc.

You can visit the stunning landscape along the two longside. Many famous   a poet in Vietnam composed a lot of works with the main topic from Ben Duc. 

Explore Yen Stream

Sitting on the boat , you can admire the captivating landscape of the Yen stream which flows between two mountains. Visitors can walk from Pier Duc to Perfume mountain, they both see sightseeing and relax on the soul of the beauty of nature. 

If you choose to transfer by boat, you will go through the beautiful rice fields and biggest limestone mountains. Located on the left, there are Phoenix Mountain and Doi Cheo Mountain. Looking from afar, the mountains are the same as Indian pythons.

On the journey by boat, you will go past Bung mountain and Voi mountain. On the right, you will see Ngu Nhac mountain and Tring temple. Many pilgrims burn incense to Mountain God. 

Coming to Deo mountain, you pass through Phong Su mountain and Trau cave. 

Admire the beauty of Thien Tru Pagoda

After climbing Huong Mountain, you should stop at Den Trinh. Then, you can visit Thien Tru Pagoda. The pagoda was builts in the XVIII under King Le Thanh Tong. 

The meaning of Thien Tru is a  heaven kitchen with the rock formation in this area that looks like chefs working. Thuy Tien tower, which is a granite monolith, is famous at the Thien Tru pagoda. Tourists  can come here and see the beautiful landscape  of the pagoda.

Discover Huong Tich Grotto

Going along the stream, you will see the initial ancient pagodas from the riverbank. Continue climbing up more hundred stone steps, and go down 120 stone steps, you will approach Huong Tich Grotto. 

Th road led Huong Tich is beautiful with the luxuriant landscape. Visitor can see the in front of the cave that is line stone stairs. When you step down 120 step stairs, the inscription of “The first-ranking grotto under the Southern Sky” which was traces of Lord Tinh Do Vuong Trinh Sam’s calligraphy in 1770 in Han scripts appears in your eyes.

Inside, visitors will feel a dim atmosphere and impressive nature with natural rock such as Dun Gao rock, gold and silver trees, or girl and boy mountain...
