If you have a travel plan to Cat Ba island from Hanoi after March 1, 2024, you need to note where the new ferry terminal - Đồng Bài Ferry Ternimal. 

Dong Bai Ferry Terminal will take over the role of Got Ferry Terminal beginning at five o'clock on March 1st, 2024. This ferry carries passengers and cars from the mainland to Cat Ba island.

Where is Dong Bai Ferry Terminal? 

The Dong Bai ferry port is eight hectares wide and is situated in the Dong Bai commune, Ben Hai Distict, close to the Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car station. The road leading to the wharf is 1.8 hectares in length and was constructed by Cat Ba Sun Company Limited, who assumed the role of the investor.

The distance from Dong Bai to Cai Vieng Ferry (on Cat Ba island) is 1.86 kilometers, which is 120 meters more than the previous route and through Cat Hai Strait, the journey duration is around 10 minutes longer.

Residents and tourists can cross Tan Vu Bridge from Hai Phong's inner city to the intersection near Vinfast Automobile Factory, where there will be a sign showing the way to Dong Bai ferry port (the same road as Cat Hai - Phu cable car station). Routes of travel from Hanoi/Hai Phong to Cat Ba island

There are many routes from Hai Phong and Hanoi to the Dong Bai Ferry Terminal. If you start from Hanoi, you can use bus route 36 from Gia Lam Bus Station, private vehicles, or interstate buses from Hanoi. 

There are several ways to get around Hai Phong, including buses route 02 from Ben xe Dau Rong Bus Station, motorbikes, and cars.
