Cham museum is known for its Danang Museum of Cham Sculpture, located in Hai Chau district, near Han river. With an area of more than 6.600 m2, this place is the biggest and largest Cham museum in Danang.
The museum divided into 2 parts to display the items, rare images and materials of Cham culture. This place was formally opened in 1919 to welcome the public.
Da Nang Cham Architecture Museum Campus
Danang Cham museum was built in 1915 and the base completed in 1916. However, in 1919, the museum was welcomed by the public to visit.
Due to the discovery of more antiques excavated, Cham museum expanded some spaces. The museum was expanded for the second time which was a room for exhibition, storage in 2002 and continuing, renovated one again in 2016 by local authorities.
In 2011, Cham museum was recognized as one of the first class Cham museums in Vietnam, contributing to the important role of Cham culture.
History about Cham Dynasty
The Champa Kingdom was founded in 192 A.D and spanned through many destinies such as Lin-Yi, Huang Wang, Chang Chen.
This kingdom stretched from Quang Binh province to Binh Thuan province with coastal plains, highland, and mountain ranges. The culture of Champa Kingdom was influenced by Hindu civilization. Several smaller states of Mandala with some ethnic groups, creating Champa Kingdom.

The temple and towers were decorated by the bas relief columns, flowers , lintels and figures on brick pillars. You can see the tympana, lintels and ornamental pieces that are carved with the gods, the holy animal in Hindu culture and flower leaves.
