Be sure to bargain a price in advance for the entire group. Prices range from 50,000 VND for a brief journey to 150,000 VND per hour. Nighttime price hikes are common. Avoid being taken advantage of by confirming the price in advance and mentioning the VND currency.

In addition, electric buses are available in Hanoi. There are 14 stops in and around the Old Quarter and Kiem Lake, with the primary terminal located at the lake's northern tip.

Ho Chi Minh City

Those who are looking for a lively environment will be pleased to learn that Ho Chi Minh City is one of the best destinations to visit in Vietnam for nightlife. Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Bui Vien Street, and Ben Thanh Market are among the best places to go out in the city at night.

Ho Chi Minh metropolis is Vietnam's commercial and financial center and largest metropolis. Also known as Saigon, it has a noteworthy history extending back hundreds of years. The country's somber wartime past and the beautiful colonial buildings left behind by the French are well documented in the many museums found throughout the land.

Saigon, formerly called the "Pearl of the Far East," has become a commercial hub and a melting pot of numerous ethnic groups, all of which bring their own set of beliefs and cultural subtleties to the city's vibrant cultural scene because of its convenient position. Located at the intersection of main North-South and East-West sea routes, it serves as Vietnam's cultural, intellectual, and economic hub.

Best time to visit HCMC

Ho Chi Minh City has a tropical climate with high temperatures all year long. Like most tropical destinations, the city experiences both dry and rainy seasons, but even during the wetter months, there are still plenty of hot, perfect sunny days.

Between December to March, the weather is often mild and pleasant, making it the ideal time to come.

With an average high of 35 degrees Celsius and a low of 27 degrees Celsius, April is the hottest month of the year. In December, temperatures average 32 degrees Celsius during the day and 24 degrees Celsius at night, making it the coldest month of the year.

Therefore, the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City is between December and April, when domestic tourism is at its lowest and precipitation is at a minimum. The weather is also mild, with temperatures between 22 and 34 degrees Celsius. Tet holiday, or the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, is celebrated in late January or early February, so time your visit accordingly.

How to get to HCMC from HCMC airport?

With a capacity of 15–17 million people annually, Ho Chi Minh Airport (also known as Tan Son Nhat International Airport) is Vietnam’s busiest airport. The airport is where the majority of visitors to Vietnam will begin their vacation.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport is not far from Ho Chi Minh City. It's a quick half-hour drive, as it's only 8 kilometers away.

Taxi

Getting a taxi from Tan Son Nhat Airport to the heart of the city is a breeze. There are several reputable taxi companies to pick from in Vietnam, including Mai Linh, Saigon, Vinasun, and Vinataxi. Depending on where you're going, the fare could be as high as 150.000 VND. This is a perfect alternative whether you travel with your kids, or with a huge group of friends traveling together.

Bus

From Tan Son Nhat Airport, you can take a public bus or a shuttle bus to the heart of the city.

People using the route from the airport into the city center are depicted in green. The government-run public bus is far more cost-effective than a shuttle bus, costing only $0.25 USD each piece of luggage. The shuttle bus doesn't make as many stops as this one does. The shuttle bus is yellow and privately owned. It's more expensive than taking the bus, but the employees understand English and it doesn't make as many stops. The shuttle bus routes 109 and 49 are the two options.

Private car

Taking a private car from Tan Son Nhat Airport to Ho Chi Minh city center is a terrific option. A 4, 7, or 16-seat vehicle is available for your convenience. The driver will be waiting with a sign at the arrivals area, assisting with baggage claim, and delivering you safely to your final location. The driver has your flight number and will be aware of any changes, such as a delay or cancellation.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available all across Ho Chi Minh City, and you'll often see them waiting by the street or in front of popular establishments. Every kilometer you travel in a taxi will cost you an additional sum on top of the base rate.

You shouldn't have too much trouble getting around District 1. Keep in mind that taxi scams are frequent in Saigon, so always use reputable services like Mai Linh Taxi or Vinasun.

Xe om

The motorbike taxis known as xe om are a fun and unique way to go about Vietnam. You'll have a skilled driver at your side as you navigate the hectic streets. Depending on where you go (and how good you are at haggling), it's also not too pricey. Booking by the hour is another option, and it might be a deal if you want to see a lot of a neighborhood in a short length of time.

You'll also receive a protective helmet, so just keep your knees in and ride safely. Most motorists will appreciate it if you signal your turn with your hand. The inability of most xe om residents to speak English is the city's sole real drawback.

Ben-Thanh-marketBen Thanh market, HCMC

Cyclo

In recent years, Saigon's 3-wheeled cyclos have become increasingly rare, even near tourist hotspots like temples, restaurants, and clubs. Most tourists rent a cyclo for an hour to get around the Dong Khoi area and to get from one tourist attraction to another.

Due to the relatively crowded traffic in Ho Chi Minh City, we urge against obtaining all-day cyclo trips. However, if you're the adventurous sort, taking a cyclo can be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Bus

There are over a hundred bus lines in and around Ho Chi Minh City, making them a wonderful low-cost option for sight-seeing. All of the buses have clean, comfy seats and air conditioning, and they all have distinctive white and green exteriors. Ben Thanh Station (where you can acquire a free map of the Ho Chi Minh Bus Route), Cholon Station, and Mien Dong Station are some of the city's major bus terminals.

If you're wanting to take the bus from the airport to the city center or vice way, look out for the #147 (Cho Lon Bus Station - Tan Son Nhat) and #152 (Trung Son Resident - Tan Son Nhat) buses. Pham Ngu Lao is a backpacker quarter in Ho Chi Minh City, and buses 147 and 152 will take you to Chinatown and the Ben Thanh Market, respectively.

Sapa

Located in the northwest of the country, Sapa is the mountainous area of Lao Cai province. Despite its relatively low population and size, the country's landscape of hills and lush forests makes for a wonderful panoramic picture.

It is from the words for "sand" (Sa) and "village" (Pa) that the name "Sapa" is derived. Previously, the community had just a "sand village" in which to barter.

Sa Pa sits on the Lo Suay Tong mountain range, at an altitude of around 1,500 to 1,650 meters. At a height of 2228 meters, this peak provides a panoramic view of the area to the southeast of Sapa.

One day, the town's weather experiences 4 seasons: the morning is spring, the midday is comparable to summer weather with pleasant sunshine, balmy environment; cool clouds and dew in the afternoon generate a feeling of autumn weather and the night is the cold of winter.

Location

It is around 380 kilometers away from the nation's capital city of Hanoi and 38 kilometers away from the center of Lao Cai. Tips for traveling Halong Bay

You should be sure to pack efficiently and be ready for anything on your trip to Halong Bay. The most important thing that you will require is a valid travel document, such as a passport or an identification card, because any boats or hotels that you stay in will require this in order to let you remain there.

You should pack clothes suitable for the weather, considering the season, and always bring a waterproof jacket with you in case of any unexpected torrential downpours. Be sure to bring along some shoes that are appropriate for walking inside caverns, as well as some swimsuits, as there is a possibility that you will go kayaking or to the beach during your trip. Even when it's cloudy, the sun can be rather intense in Vietnam, so applying sunscreen is an important necessity.

Do not bring your huge suitcases on your trip because the cabins on the boat are often rather modest and won't typically accommodate more than one suitcase at a time. Because meals and water are typically the only things that are provided on cruises, you should also bring any snacks or drinks that you might desire with you on your journey.

Best time to visit Halong Bay

The climate of Halong Bay, which is located in the northeastern region of the country, varies across all four seasons (spring, summer, fall, and winter), although it can mostly be broken down into two categories: dry and chilly winters and hot and muggy summers.

May through August bring scorching temperatures across the entire region, making this the ideal time of year to go swimming and sunbathing. Your vacation could be canceled due to the presence of light rain on some days as well as an unexpected typhoon near the conclusion of the summer.

The temperature drops, and there is a chance of storms, but they don't last long. Autumn (September and October) is when this happens. The air is crisp, making it ideal for photography and all of the other planned activities.

Winter (late November – January): Even though the winter months, which span from late November to January are fairly chilly and dry, this is the bay's busiest season. The islands of Halong Bay take on a spooky and alluring appearance when the morning fog rolls in.

Woman-taking-photo-with-Ha-Long-BayWoman taking photo with Ha Long Bay

The springtime (February to April) is a best time to visit Halong Bay,  with bright blue skies and gentle breezes in the evening. The first blooming flowers appear, and fresh leaves appear on the trees and bushes. During the spring months, there is still a chance that it would rain and be foggy, but the fog will not be as dense as it is during the winter months.

The months of September through November and March through May represent the spring and fall seasons, respectively, when Ha Long Bay is at its most beautiful.

During those months, the temperature is comfortable, the sky is clear, and there is gentle sunshine; adverse weather conditions are not expected during this time period. There would be a lot of amazing opportunities to spend time outside during this time. Even though the temperature is high and there is the possibility of tropical storms occurring, summer is still a wonderful season to spend at the beach and enjoy the water.

How to get to Halong Bay from Noi Bai Airport

The distance between the airport in Hanoi and Halong Bay is around 170 kilometers, and it takes approximately 2.5 hours to go there via New Highway 5B. When traveling from the Hanoi airport to Halong Bay, this is the most practical and cost-effective mode of transportation that we can suggest to you. Anbasco bus will have pick-up routes at Noi Bai international airport with varying time frames and two primary bus lines, which are as follows:

  • Bus has 45 seats, priced between 13 and 14 USD per person, one-way
  • Bus with 16 seats, costing between 17 and 18 US Dollars each passenger, one-way

In addition, you may also consider famous brands like Co To Limousine and Tam Bao Anh Limousine as additional options. However, there are situations when the bus runs behind schedule. When utilizing public transportation, one must accept this risk inevitably.

By private taxi/car

A private automobile is an excellent option if you value your privacy and wish to have complete control over the pace and itinerary of your journey. Traveling by taxi from Noi Bai International Airport to Halong Bay will take approximately 2.5 hours of your time. If you go with a small family or have a decent budget and don't want to wait for the scheduled bus, this vehicle is fairly reasonable. The price will be somewhat higher than the bus, but it's a fantastic option if you don't want to wait for it. Before making a reservation, you should look for a good deal and see what the going rate is. Take note that to save both time and money, you should make reservations for a private automobile in advance. Depending on the vehicle size you select (4 seats or 7 seats on the same route, costs for private cars will range from 89 to 95 US Dollars per one-way trip).

The finest aspect of flying by seaplane is getting a bird's-eye view of the island's stunning landscape, which includes towering peaks, karst limestone islets, and emerald seas. Seaplane tickets can cost anywhere from $175 to $385, with prices fluctuating based on the time of year and the day of the week.

How do I get around?

Finding one's way around Halong Bay can be scary for those not on a tour bus and those willing to trek out far. There's nothing to be concerned about when getting about Halong Bay.

Taxi

Long-distance trips, including those to the airport or the pier, are best taken by taxi. The taxi driver is local, so he could provide the tourists with useful advice or a gripping tale about the bay (if he speaks English).

The fare is reasonable, averaging approximately 14,000 VND (about USD 0.7) every milometer. Tourists should take reputable taxi services like Mai Linh Taxi, Ha Long Taxi, or Mong Cai Taxi, however, there are plenty to pick from. All customers can find a suitable taxi from the many options these companies offer.

If you need a taxi, just ask the front desk at your hotel.

Motorbike/car

Renting a motorcycle or automobile can be an excellent solution for travelers who value mobility and independence but don't want to spend a fortune doing so. Tourists are advised to rent automobiles or motorcycles from their hotels, though these can be found all across the city.  Renting a private car with English drivers will provide useful advice or an interesting tale about the bay.  You can rent a good-price private car from Vietnam Trust Car Rental. Hoi An Ancient Town

Hoi An has been around for a few centuries, yet it looks and feels just like it did when it was founded. The occupations by the Japanese and Chinese and the Westerners (Dutch and Spanish) in the 16th and 17th centuries are two of its most significant historical events.

During the heyday of the China trade, the town was called Hai Pho (Sea Town) in Vietnamese. Originally Hai Pho was a divided town, because over the "Japanese Bridge", it used to be the Japanese colony (16th-17th century). Back then, it was a prominent international port city known as Faifo to the French and Spanish.

Mekong delta - Cai Rang floating market

Five Southeast Asian countries—Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar—are linked by the Mekong River. The Mekong Delta, also known as the "Nine Dragon River Delta," was produced by river sediments, and this formation process is ongoing; each year, silt deposits add roughly 79 meters to the delta's length. Rice, fruit, coconut, shrimp, and fish are only some of the agricultural and fishery goods that have flourished as a result of this transformation. Despite its predominantly rural character, the area is both highly populous and agriculturally advanced.

Mekong-Delta.Vietnam_1Mekong Delta Vietnam

The Mekong Delta is home to several orchards, fish farms, and floating markets that can be explored on a tour. Beautiful Khmer pagodas may be found in Soc Trang and Tra Vinh, and they are a great place to learn about Vietnam's diverse cultural heritage. The Khmers, who make up a major section of the region's population, have kept their unique culture and spectacular buildings. Travel to Phu Quoc Island by boat from Rach Gia in the west.

In general, there are two seasons in the Mekong Delta: the dry season and the rainy one. The Delta faces significant hydrologic challenges, including seasonal flooding and saltwater intrusion during the dry season. Tourists' trips were impacted by these factors as well.

From 1802 until 1945, nine separate dynasties of the Nguyen family ruled Vietnam.

Hue-VietnamHue, Vietnam

After suffering heavy damage in 1947 during fighting with the French, the historic Citadel was completely demolished by American forces in 1968 during the Tet Offensive. There were originally about 160 structures, but just 20 are now standing after being severely damaged during French occupation and the Vietnam War. Fortunately, in 1993, UNESCO included the Citadel on its World Heritage List, which has helped boost tourism in Hue and the surrounding area.

Taxi

Phu Quoc International Airport, as well as the island's major hotels and tourist attractions, all have taxi stands outside. It is one of the fastest ways to get to the main town from Phu Quoc International Airport, plus most taxi drivers can speak English fairly well and are more than ready to recommend the best places and restaurants on the island.

Airport departures incur an extra toll on top of the base fee, and taxi fares vary depending on the location of your accommodation.

Motorbike

Motorbikes are a fantastic option for anyone seeking freedom and independence when touring Phu Quoc Island. Motorbikes are a practical mode of transportation within Duong Dong, as the town's traffic is less hectic than that of other Vietnamese cities, however the roads leading to the countryside and Phu Quoc National Park are fairly twisting and bumpy.

Duong Dong's Hai Ba Trung Street is lined with places to hire motorbikes. Motorcycle rentals are also available at most resorts, though usually at a higher price. Before setting out on your motorbike, make sure everything is in working order, especially the brakes.

Private car

Phu Quoc International Airport and An Thoi Port are teeming with private car proprietors offering their services to passengers. You might also make advantage of the services of reputable automobile rental agencies like Vietnam Budget automobile Rental Group. A four-seater sedan with an English-speaking driver will set you back about VND 300,000, while a seven-seater will start at VND 379,000.

Vung-tau-VietnamVung tau, Vietnam

Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu province used to be connected to Dong Nai province to the north, with the exception of the Côn o islands. The islands of Côn o, historically part of Hau Giang province, were separated from Dong Nai and combined with Vung Tau to form the new "special zone" of Vng Tàu-Côn o in 1979. A split from Dong Nai province occurred in 1992, when Bà Ra merged with Vung Tau-Con Dao to establish the present-day province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Location

Vung Tau, the provincial seat of Ba Ria, is located approximately 95 kilometers south-east of Saigon, making it a convenient day trip destination following a stay in the metropolis. There are still some colonial houses and European influences in the city because it was a beach sanctuary for wealthy French and Vietnamese officials during the colonial era. Thanks to the beaches that run along both sides of the peninsula, it is now a bustling working beach city with industries including fishing, oil, and, of course, tourism.

Ban Gioc Waterfall

One of Vietnam's most breathtaking vistas is the Ban Gioc Waterfall. The falls are located on the jade-blue Quay Son River, which originates in China and winds its way through a bucolic landscape of rice paddies and bamboo groves before plunging over a series of dramatic limestone cliffs.

There are actually two separate waterfalls in Ban Gioc. The largest waterfall in the north is three cascades high and around 70 meters broad. From afar, it looks like a few thin strands of white silk have been draped over the hill's features. This section of the Thac Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam features the most impressive and beautiful scenery.

Ban-Gioc-Waterfall-Cao-BangBan Gioc Waterfall, Cao Bang

In contrast, the southern waterfall has a lesser water flow and regularly goes dry during the dry season. Ban Gioc Waterfalls was named one of the world's 25 most beautiful waterfalls by Travel+Leisure magazine in 2021. In 2023, this spot was recognized as one of the world's most beautiful natural boundaries by the SCMP newspaper of Hong Kong.

Location

The Ban Gioc Waterfalls are a genuine natural marvel of Vietnam, and they can be found tucked away in the captivating province of Cao Bang. This charming fall reveals a spectacular scene as clear waters tumble from tier to tier, blending in beautifully with the verdant environs. Cao Bang is known for the mesmerizing natural beauty it so graciously bestows upon those visiting. Its brilliance is evidence of this.

The Ban Gioc Waterfalls are widely considered among the most impressive and alluring waterfalls in Vietnam. The waterfall can be found in Dam Thuy Commune, which is located around 335 kilometers away from Hanoi. It is situated on the international boundary between the Chinese province of Guangxi and the Vietnamese province of Cao Bang.

  • Location: Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province
  • Entrance fee: 45.000 VND/person

Best time to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall

The rainy season, which runs from May until September, is the greatest time to see Ban Gioc Waterfalls because it is during this time that the waterfalls are at their most magnificent. The larger amount of precipitation causes the waterfall to widen, which in turn causes the water to flow over the edge, creating an impressive display of the natural world's majesty. However, if you want to travel by motorbike or on foot in an area that is prone to high rainfall, you should be prepared for some difficulties. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to check the weather in Cao Bang in advance.
